Low Voltage (LV) Electrical Switchgear and Controlgear definition under IEC 61439 is a combination of LV switching devices together with associated control, measuring and protective equipment. There is no dedicated IEC standards for LV Switchgear and LV Switchboard. Hence, IEC 61439 standards series will define construction, technical characteristics requirements and service conditions for all types of LV electrical switchgear.
